The Rollback Plan Nobody Asks For Until They Need It

Every AI deployment should have a rollback plan that can be executed in minutes, not days. We've seen teams discover this the hard way when a model update started generating incorrect policy responses during peak support hours.

A good rollback plan has three components: a feature flag that disables AI actions without taking down the host application, a cached fallback to the last known-good model version, and a runbook that doesn't require an engineer on call.

Test the rollback quarterly. If it takes more than five minutes or requires more than one person, it's not a rollback plan — it's a recovery project.
